Alida Bryant has over 24 years of experience as an advocate for those who would not have otherwise had access to legal representation. In her time as a criminal defense attorney, Alida has seen the devastating effects of doing business as usual. She understands that to have a safe and strong community, the rights of all citizens must be protected.

Every case which comes before a Circuit Court Judge, whether it is a criminal, civil, juvenile, or family matter, requires a judge who is knowledgeable, has integrity, and is fair yet compassionate. One who respects the people appearing before her and yet holds sacred her duty, appreciating the impact that a decision has upon the person or party.

We are in the middle of a crisis:

• Too many of our mentally ill neighbors are housed in jail and prisons.

• Addiction is still treated as a crime instead of as a health care issue.

• Our veterans are still coming into the system with service related issues which land them in the criminal justice system.

• ​

We cannot simply lock away our problems. We must face them head on.  Alida is passionate about treatment courts, restorative justice programs, and second chances. As a Circuit Court Judge, she will seek out and use alternatives to the status quo whenever possible; treating each person who appears before her as an individual and not just another case on the docket.
